Illinois Electric Cooperative is serving Calhoun County with high speed, 21st century fiber internet service!
Our mission when we started working on this project was simple: We wanted the citizens of Calhoun to have fast, reliable internet.
Illinois Electric Cooperative has been working since 2013 to bring a fiber optic network to the county. It’s not been easy, but we haven’t given up. We are bringing fiber internet to the schools first. After this, we will begin a countywide build-out of a fiber network.
Since 1936, the co-op has been on a mission to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. Fiber optics do just that. It drastically improves the quality of life for those in the community.

A fiber network can offer residents and businesses multiple services!
Before we start construction, we need easements. The map below shows where we currently have easements. We need easements to be able to serve residents of Calhoun County. Please encourage your neighbors to sign an easement for the co-op.
YELLOW indicates that we need a signed easement by the landowner.
RED indicates that we will not be receiving a signed easement by the landowner.
The areas in orange in the map below are areas where fiber optic internet is already available. Areas in blue are currently under construction.
